A poem about how one’s true value comes from within despite societal challenges

The Tree of Humanity

Never alone in the family home,
As you sit upon this tree of life
Thy fellow man with no abode,
Whose voice will he be?

On the vast earthly tree, we call home
“Get off my branch, you can’t sit here!
Sit beneath me, do I make myself clear?”
“Stay low, stay low” they cry, “walk with us”

Said nobody who has guidance from above.
As we strengthen and grow
We won’t stay low
Protected by our light in the plight.

Shining brightly with so much might.
“Dim Yourself down, we want your crown.”
No place to go, but only you know
Heaven’s crown sits in your town

This poem is about the connectedness of humanity. The tree is the world or society; whilst everyone has a place, some voices are marginalized or ignored. Even though we are never alone in the tree, our unity is challenged because of the prejudice shown by some -“Get off my branch, you can’t sit here!
Sit beneath me, do I make myself clear?”

“Stay low, stay low” they cry, “walk with us”. This represents the challenges we face to conform and suppress individuality.

Despite the challenges faced in society, our true value comes from within, “Heaven’s crown sits in your town”

Whispers Of Tranquillity: Be Still And Know That I Am God
Be still and know that I am God. Experience a moment of divine connection in nature’s silence, where heaven whispers through warmth, coolness, and the serenade of birdsong.
