Smiley Blue has always felt to me like boundless blue ocean, full of love and endless possibility.

“Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”
— John 7:38

My reflection this week is about becoming a wellspring. It’s a message that came to me while I was quietly sitting in a courtyard at an old Italian monastery. I hope it gives you something to carry into the days ahead.

A Moment in Vicoforte

Enjoying a morning coffee outside in the courtyard of the Sanctuary Basilica of the Nativity of Mary in Vicoforte, Cuneo, there was an incredible sense of peace that gave me space to reflect.

In that moment, I felt God show me something. A reminder of what we’re here for.

We’re meant to be like wellsprings, always clear, vital and flowing. It is in this natural state that we are in divine flow and can offer something healing to the world without even trying. A spiritual drink for someone who didn’t even realise how desperately thirsty they were.

“The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.”
— Proverbs 11:25

🕊 How to Be a Wellspring

Here are some of the practices I return to that help me stay in divine flow:

  • Hold the light inside you.
The light is always there, no matter the moment. Remembering it always changes everything.
  • When challenges come, always ask:
“How can I be the best version of myself here, in this exact place God has placed me?”
  • Act now.
What you do today starts to shape your tomorrow’s. Begin with what you already have.
  • Pray, Give thanks and Often.
Even in the smallest things throughout the day, keep saying thank you.
  • Smile and Greet people with warmth.
It’s so simple, but it opens something up. Take an interest in people, and be curious. Know when to retreat and to replenish yourself too.
  • Be present.
Take plenty of mental snapshots. Catch the beauty in your mind’s eye where it usually slips away unnoticed. Most people are so distracted on their devices, even in places of beauty and they miss the real moments.
  • Care for your body and mind.
Wellsprings stay fresh because they’re always well tended to.
I carry my favourite essential oil in my bag for instant calm and clarity.
I drink water through the day, pause often and remember to just be.
At night I make a little bedtime ritual. I take reishi drops, rub a few drops of relaxing essential oil onto the back of my neck, study a scripture, inhale peace, and pray.

🌿 The Tap Vision

In a separate meditation, I was shown another image of a tap with four outlets.

The message was simple: give back to the earth four times what you take.

If we all lived this way, the earth would return to balance and abundance.
But right now I am shown the tap is only a drip. We take without returning, and the earth can’t sustain us the way we hope.

Our real purpose was never to chase wealth or accumulation.
It’s to remember our true nature—and our true nature is nature.
Like any healthy ecosystem, we’re meant to replenish what we draw from.

We are made mainly of water. So we’re here to water what’s around us.

📖 Ancient Wisdom

In Kabbalah, we’re described as kelim—vessels.
We receive the light in order to pass it on. This creates Shefa—the divine flow that sustains the world.

The word Adam (human) shares its root with Adamah (earth).
We’re not separate from creation, we are part of it.

Reflection Prompts

  • Where am I being invited today to give more than I take?
  • What helps me to be clear, grounded, and present?
  • Where in my life have I stopped the flow, and what would help it return?
