Finding Grace in Our Wounds

I hope this Tuesday finds you in a space of reflection. Today, I want to share something that sparked a revelation for me - that begins with shining a light on "trauma." Hidden within its letters lies "aum," the sacred sound of divine consciousness. This had me thinking about how your deepest wounds can be your doorway to God's grace, as they were for me.

"And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you." - 1 Peter 5:10

The Weight We Carry

Many of us carry the weight of past traumas, those difficult experiences that have shaped and sometimes scarred us. We often hear well-meaning advice to "just let it go" or "move on," as if healing were as simple as flipping a light switch. But what if it can be, and we could ultimately shift our mind to view our trauma not as something to escape from, but as the sacred teacher to support us on our path to spiritual transformation?

The Chrysalis of Transformation

Let's explore another perspective of trauma, and how the experiences that have brought us down to our knees can also be the ones that will lift us to new heights of understanding, gratitude, and grace. Like a caterpillar in its chrysalis, sometimes what feels like a complete breakdown is a breakthrough in disguise.

The Search for Inner Peace

How will you find peace in your mind, body and spirit when you have endured so much trauma and heartache? Every human regardless of faith seeks to find solace and peace within yet believes it exists somewhere out there. Believing if only the world or your circumstances could change then you would finally feel at peace.

Understanding Our Response to Pain

You are naturally inclined to view painful and unpleasant external experiences negatively. You dislike and resist feeling pain or discomfort, so you struggle internally to find some mental relief and desperately try to pursue balance, inner peace and harmony.

There can be long-lasting effects to life's traumatic experiences and it can shape you both mentally and physically for the rest of your life unless you learn to reframe your mind around how you view those experiences.

The Question of Faith

You struggle deeply to understand your pain and the "why." You wonder how a loving God could allow such dreadful events to happen to innocent individuals. It's always easy to overlook that both good and evil coexist on the Earth plane. We live in a world with ingratitude, pride, lust, envy, wrath, and greed, among others.

The Path to Healing

First, your feelings must be acknowledged, it's no use trying to shovel positivity over the top. What's not helpful is trying to shift blame onto the externals for your way of being, which ultimately has to become your responsibility. It's necessary to work through the feelings of anger in a controlled and purposeful manner where there is injustice and abuse of power.

Choosing Your Future

Yet, imagine if you could see the beauty in pain and trauma and find peace, gratitude, and grace within it. What if you could transform your mind from "Why did this happen to me?" to "Thank you, I'm so grateful this happened to me," by discovering the gift in it and recognising it illuminated your path all along?

The Mountain and the Boulder

You do hold the inner power to decide if your past shapes your future. Imagine sitting on a mountain before a large boulder, constantly looking downward. The lower mind fails to realise that it can simply walk around the boulder, it keeps you stuck there and sees the boulder as a wall to the ascent, not as the resting spot to pause for a while, reflect, and then continue the climb.

The Spiritual Perspective

Looking at trauma through a spiritual lens, you see how your deepest wounds can become the doorway to higher consciousness.

The sacred "aum" vibration arises from silence, and spirituality comes to light from our darkest moments. This isn't in any way to glorify suffering, it's about recognising that within trauma lies a sacred opportunity for your spiritual transformation and rebirth.

Sacred Transformation

The spiritual path shows us that everything - including our pain - serves a higher purpose in our soul's evolution. When we're in the depths of trauma, we're forced to face our deepest questions about existence, meaning, and divinity. Although extremely difficult, it can be the very thing needed to crack open your heart to deeper meaning.

Embracing the Journey

This article doesn't reduce the reality of your pain or the need for healing work. Instead, it adds a sacred dimension to the journey, reminding us that through suffering you are held in divine grace. Your trauma becomes a sacred teacher guiding you toward your highest evolution- Om- Aum- Amen- and so it is...

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." - Romans 8:28
